After some new prescription glasses? These trendy glasses will have you looking spec-tacular (sorry)!
When I was a little girl, the thought of prescription glasses made me think of three things: geeks, geniuses & Velma from Scooby Doo. Fast forward a decade and a half and Velma is total #stylegoals, geeks can be hot and well.. who wouldn’t want to be a genius?!
I feel like I’ve really stepped up my prescription glasses game lately and I am featuring my trendy glasses more and more on my Instagram feed.
Glasses wearing ladies, it’s time to stop feeling like your spectacles are making you look like an …erm.. spectacle! These 2018 trendy glasses styles will honestly make you watch to the ditch the contact lenses for good!
The Oversized Velma
I’ve just realised that this post could honestly be a drinking game… “Drink every time she says Velma”. Yes: funny guys… here’s a gif so you can get that out of your system.

Jokes aside, oversized round glasses are all the rage at the moment! To maximise the wear out of this style of glasses, I suggest opting for tortoiseshell or black. The trick of the trade with the ol’ ‘Velma style’ glasses is to choose a frame that appears large on your face, but not so large that they make your face look warped and pin head like. No lip skimming glasses here folks…
I’m wearing Arise Collective ‘Stella’ glasses from Vision Direct*. What attracted me to these gorgeous tortoiseshell frames is the fact that they look like a stylish pair of sunglasses without the dark lenses. The subtle cat-eye frame reminds me of my favorite pairs of sunglasses so I knew that they would work with my face shape!
My days of being embarrassed about wearing prescription glasses are a total thing of the past. #ByeFelcia

The Clear Plastic
Clear plastic glasses are kind of like the stunning, stylish daughter of your high-school science safety glasses. As a matter of fact, these babies are so trendy that I’ve seen celebrities and bloggers alike who don’t need glasses wearing them!
The best thing about these are that they are the black top of the glasses world, aka they look incredible with everything in your wardrobe!

In the 90s, my Dad actually wore aviator-style glasses that I refer as to his ‘John Lennon glasses’. Well Dad… I owe you an apology as I can’t get enough of my own aviator frames.
I opted for rounder style aviators, but the classic, shorter aviators are just as in style.
Quick tip: don’t be afraid to shop in the men’s section of the glasses store for aviators!
My Trendy Glasses Wishlist
Harry Potter didn’t scream “Ex-spec-to Patronum!” for nothing, he just really loved his round specs!
Made for wearing with flaming hot red lips!
