The LBD, as we know it, is an overdone icon. Although it’s inevitably
a style staple, (who wouldn’t want a perfect black dress?!) after it
has featured in every glossy mag known to exist numerous times, it is
safe to say that is over-hyped.
I mean, technically
speaking; black actually isn’t a colour and as much as I love the
all-black look sometimes I just want something that adds a little snap,
crackle and pop to my evening look. Sorry Kelloggs: Please do not sue!
Lagerfeld may appropriately praise the LBD, Coco Chanel herself stated
that ‘in order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.’ So
what does that mean? Not wearing a black dress to the next
wedding/formal occasion/event your invited to? Bingo!
what should we look for in a new go-to dress? Well, much like the
beloved LBD it should be sexy, sophisticated, elegant and timeless.
is the colour of passion, love, sex appeal and most of all, confidence.
Although this look is certainly not for a wall flower, industry experts
have advised wearing red to important events. Why, I hear you ask?
