Ladies, I’ve got news for you, the one-piece swimsuit is going to be the crown jewel in your swimwear wardrobe for Summer 2019.
Not convinced? Today I don the cutest ever Camilla swimsuit , whack on some sunscreen and put my case forward. Here’s ten reasons you need to choose a one piece swimsuit.
Please note: this post includes photos of me in a swimsuit. If you can’t handle a bit of cellulite, do me a favor and click the x in the corner of your screen. #UneditedBikiniBody
1. They Are Classic
Swimwear fads come and go, but the trusty one piece is always in style. A little bit like a little black dress or a well-fitting pair of jeans, a great swimsuit will see you well season after season.
Lace up bottoms, off-shoulders and cross-over details may be huge for Summer 2019, but will they still earn a place in your holiday wardrobe a few years from now? If you’re going to treat yourself to a swanky piece of designer swimwear, opt for a one piece swimsuit.
2. Prints Look 100% Better
I’m a sucker for a good print and even your old Uncle Earl can see that prints look 100% better on one pieces. It’s like comparing how striking a print on a crop top can to the same print on a dress. A larger solid area means more room for bright and beautiful prints.
P.S. How cute is my Camilla Queen Kalbelia Swimsuit from Simply Beach? This print literally makes me feel like I have hopped off a private yacht in Rio.
3. They Don’t Do A Houdini
AKA… a disappearing act. Grab a cup of coffee kids…it’s story time.
When I was backpacking Australia and was in the Gold Coast, I went for a swim in my hot new bikini. As I strutted into the waves feeling all tanned and quintessential “surfer chic”, the biggest wave whacked me full force.
After breathing in a gallon of seawater I stood up and looked down. Both my bikini bottoms AND bikini top had come off. I died inside as I covered my modesty, mothers shielded their children’s eyes, the creepy man dropped his ice cream and a group of teens snickered and pointed. Ok… so I over-react, but you get the picture.
The moral of the story… this embarrassing moment could have completely being avoided with a one piece swimsuit! And yes, I did grab my bathers in the water and didn’t have to bare-bum it across the busy beach.
4. Add A Skirt or Shorts And You’re Set For Lunch
Or cocktails, a bit of beach-side shopping or whatever floats your boat! There’s something far more appropriate about going for a meal, cocktails or to do a spot of shopping in a swimsuit and shorts than a bikini in shorts.
Bodysuits are still a huge trend, so why not style your swimsuit as one?
5. You Can Be Daring But Classy
Fancy going for a cheeky bum style? How about a low v-neck? With swimsuits, you can flash some flesh and dare to try out-there trends, without showing too much skin.
6. You Can Eat Fries, Ice-cream & Other Beachy Treats Without Feeling Paranoid
Let’s be real, even the flattest, most Hadid-like set of abs can be prone to a bit of bloating. The answer is simple, a one piece swimsuit!
Cover up that tum and everyone will be non-the-wiser about those three Magnums you just scoffed. Because who wants to sit and sip water whilst their boyfriend enjoys all the yummy, Summery snacks. Not me!
7. They Are Better For Watersports
Whether you’re a body boarding babe or like to pretend to be a mermaid whilst snorkelling, a one piece is a sturdier choice.
8. They Are Easier To Buy Online
If your local shopping centre isn’t exactly a mecca for swimwear, you may have to shop online.
The great thing about one piece swimsuits is that they tend to be easier to buy online. If they are one or two centimeters too large or small, they will either stretch to accommodate or stay in place. A slightly too large two piece, on the other hand, is sure to fall off as soon as a cheeky wave hits.
9. They Are Flattering For Every Day Of The Month
I don’t mean to be brash, but no one feels comfortable in a bikini on the “red wedding” day of the month.
But before you skip the seaside until your monthlies have ceased, consider switching your bikini for a one piece. One pieces typically have more coverage “down there” and will cover up your lady-time bloat to the max.
10. You Can’t Loose Half Of It
Surely I can’t be the only beach-loving girl out there with half a drawer full of bikini halves? There’s nothing quite as annoying as purchasing a gorgeous two piece, only to find that two weeks later the bottoms have descended into the black hole that somehow dwells at the back of your washing machine.
