What’s adorable, easy to love and wrinkles easily? A pug? Wrong. Morgan Freeman? Wrong again. Linen? Bingo.
The linen trend is here to stay and whether you wear it wrinkled and undone or steamed to the max, linen has that certain effortless quality that is like an unwashed topknot or distressed denim.
By the end of this post you will have your iron set to it’s highest steam setting and will be screaming ‘oh… for the love of linen’!
Today I bring you two ways that I styled the linen trend and some of the cutest linen outfit ideas from ye old interweb…
The Linen Tie Top
Top and skirt: Glassons
Bag: Cult Gaia
Tropical North Queensland is pretty much the sweatiest place on earth, which makes the linen trend a total go-to for my wardrobe. This cropped linen tie top nails two trends in one and is perfect to throw on over a bikini or match with a high waist skirt for a more dressy look.
Plus.. am I the only one who can’t get enough of khaki? Although it’s classically associated with all things army, I think it looks fantastic on blondes (**Toot toot**, blowing my own trumpet alert).
I go in between ironing linen and taking a more ahem laid back approach, but this linen wrap skirt is a piece that definitely needs ironing. However, once it’s all smooth and chic, it’s a fantastic piece to pair with printed tops (which, let’s be honest is 97% of my wardrobe). AND my Mum will be proud that I’ve finally managed to grasp the art of ironing.
Fashion hack: Hang linen pieces in the bathroom when you have a shower to ease out any unruly wrinkles.
White Linen Dress
Dress: Isla by Tallulah
Sunglasses: TIJN Eyewear*
A white linen dress is 2018’s staple linen piece. Whether you choose cute or cut out or fitted and sleek, this baby can be dressed up and down and worn on repeat.
I adore this Isla by Tallulah dress because of the adorable lace-up detailing on the bottom. Plus, cos it’s white I can totally add loads of accessories and not look ridiculous right?
Linen Pieces To Lust Over
My linen wish list is growing faster than Pinocchio’s nose after a game of bulls**t, but here’s the linen pieces I actually need in my life…
What: Matching Linen Set
From: Faithfull The Brand
Mouth… meet floor. These two piece matching linen sets are more drool worthy than the sugariest, most chocolatiest cake. #GetinMyWardrobe
What: Striped Linen Dress
That ruching. That ruching! THAT RUCHING.
What: Linen Jumpsuit
I literally want to go on a Safari so I can look like this. Ah.. who am I kidding…
Are you loving the linen trend?
