Is it just me, or is the fashion world having some sort of love affair with mustard at the moment? Being a blonde, mustard dresses or tops come with the fear of a hideous clash. But as soon as I saw these mustard shorts, I just had to have them!
As a matter of fact, I had a bit of a style dijon-vu (sorry, had to!) and styled them up for both the day time and the evening! Cos I’m all about those condiment colours baby…

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how darn adorable these mustard shorts are? The lace up details and longer length had me hooked! Although I was a little cautious of mustard, I’d been seeing more and more of it around and I was determined to give it a try!
For a Summer day time look, I paired my mustard shorts with this navy top. This top is actually a standard off shoulder top. However I pulled it up over one shoulder for an on-trend shape. #lifehack. Is anyone else loving one shoulder shapes even more than off shoulder at the moment?
If you’re scared of giving mustard a go, opt for a mustard piece on the bottom and team with a colour that you know looks incredible on you! Mustard is a super versatile hue and will look right at home with black, white and navy!
Forget getting colour inspiration from veggies (kale anyone?), I’m all about those condiments!
Mustard Shorts For The Evening
In Cairns, fashion tends to go more towards the casual side of the spectrum. As a matter of fact, I get stared at so much for my ‘outrageous’ outfits that I may as well have an actual set of L.E.D reindeer horns stapled to the top of my head.
Funnily enough, this outfit is a pretty casual evening look for me and I feel like it’s the perfect balance between dressy and casual for dinner out or going to see a local band.
I love to mix up my textures, so I teamed the shorts with this silky silver cami, which you may remember from my piece on how to style a silk cami. I added a little sprinkle of ‘moon child’ with a boho choker, moon earrings and studded boots.
This Rebecca Minkoff mini tote is my go-to black bag. Although I have an actual handbag addiction, I’ll always go back to this baby when I want something chic and understated.
All The Mustard-y Goodness
Pass the mustard please! Whether you are a dark-haired beauty who wants to go head to toe mustard, or a sun-kissed blonde wanting to add a little of this hue, these mustard pieces are basically screaming ‘Put me in your wardrobe!’
