Step into neutral territory this summer with neutral boho style!
I love to experiment with colours and textures, but sometimes it’s a chic-er option to stick to opt for neutrals.
But who said that neutrals had to be boring? Today I show you how to rock a neutral boho style that will keep you at the top of your style game all Summer long…
How To Rock A Neutral Boho Style
1. Choose The Right Neutral Hues!
Ever thrown on a beautiful neutral piece and felt as washed out as an old dish rag?
You’re not alone!
Rocking a neutral boho look is all about finding the right neutral hues for your skin tone.
Warmer skin tones will be flattered by creamy white and creams, caramel and coffee tones.
On the other hand, cooler skin tones should opt for gray or bright white.
Neutral skin tones should go for pinkier and skin-toned neutrals.
Most importantly of all: don’t mix cool-toned and warm-toned neutrals in the same look!
2. Create A Neutral Texture Clash
What neutral boho style lacks in colour, it totally makes up for in texture!
Opt for a total texture clash with lace, macrame, knit pieces, ribbed pieces, silk, or whatever else floats your neutral boat!
3. Embrace Neutral Material & Textures
Boho style immediately lends itself to natural materials and textures, such as wicker, feathers, wool and leather.
Is it just me, or do natural fabrics in neutral textures just scream ‘Coachella’ to you?
Rock that neutral boho style by throwing on feathers and embracing those natural fabrics.
4. Add Interesting Cuts
Interesting cuts make up for what’s lacking in colour in pattern.
Do as the monochrome minimalists do and go for unique, one-sleeve styles, asymmetric skirts and any other wacky cuts you can get your paws on.
Side note: those 19th Century ‘big butt’ fits are never flattering! Sorry M.C.Hammer…
5. Add A Colour Pop Accessory
If all else fails and you find yourself screaming for a tiny bit of colour, add a colour pop accessory.
I recommend an accessory that is detached from the rest of the outfit, such as sunglasses, shoes or a handbag.
