To put it simply, if fashion week was a three course meal, street style would be the tasty dessert. Today I share with you my looks from days 3 and 4 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, which includes a suitably chocolate- hued top (nom nom nom)…
Picture the scene: glowing, airbrushed ladies adorned in head to toe designer clobber comparing their newest YSL clutches. Enter Rachel, the walking Zara catalogue, with an invisible neon ‘broke’ sign with glowing arrows above her head. But alas, the compliments actually did come my way **evil laugh**, which just goes to show it’s not what you rock, it’s how you rock it!
And that, ladies, is
broke girl early career girl fashion 101. I picked up these statement striped culottes earlier this year when I was back in the UK, and, as this embellished tee was the Keanan to its Kel, I had to grab it too. My shoes, however, are actually from Schutz and did cost me a pretty penny. The lace up leathery goodness of them made the constant toe plastering between shows totally worth it! Although, as you will notice, this was the last day I braved heels! 10 hours of constant standing between shows are not for towering stilettos!
I wore this outfit to go witness the magic that was Karla Spetic, By Johnny, Macgraw, Bec & Bridge, Steven Khalil and Bianca Spender. You can read all about these stunning collections here.
By day 4 my poor sore tootsies were screaming ‘Adidas’ so I had to throw on my Superstars. However, at 5ft 7, and with most people in heels, I felt like a total shortie for the first time in my life. Altogether now… ‘I’m a little blogger short and stout.’
Jokes aside, there were a whole load of fashionistas that had ditched their fancy heels for sneakers. I honestly think that Adidas Superstars need some sort of hallelujah chorus dedicated to them, they are so darn comfy and still look chic!
I completed this muted-palette with a stripe off-shoulder top and these really cute Michael Kors sunglasses. Is it just me or has MK totally upped their sunglasses game recently? I approve.
Stay tuned for Tuesdays post, where I will be sharing my last two outfits from MBFWA. In the meantime, you can stalk my outfits from the first two days here.
